CORVALLIS, Ore. – Benton and Yamhill County's transit districts partnered for a new pilot project called "99 Vine," which launched on Monday.
It offers fare-less bus services along Highway 99 between McMinnville and Eugene, with two stops in Corvallis. Serving eight communities with 13 stops, this program is grant funded for the next six months.
The pilot program will drop off passengers at pivotal transportation destinations such the Eugene Amtrak station and airport.
“I think that will be very big and helpful because then they don't have to pay for Ubers or Lyfts, which can cost a lot of money to go from here to Eugene,” local resident Sheril Weidenmann said. “So I think it would be helpful for people that need to get there to go take the plane.”
