LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Wreaths Across America is seeking donations to place wreaths on the graves of veterans at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery before Christmas, aiming to ensure no veteran is forgotten.
Susan Kalmey from Wreaths Across America said, "These wreaths are not Christmas trees. They are wreaths of honor. And, we want to remember those that have gone before us, honor and of course, teach our young families, our children the sacrifice that our veterans have made for us and our country."
There are 11,400 graves at the cemetery, but currently, only about 8,000 wreaths have been donated.
Wreaths can be purchased for $17 at louisvillehonor.com , and the deadline to donate is Thanksgiving Day.
