NEW ORLEANS —
New Orleans City Council President JP Morrell has criticized the city's financial management, attributing its cash crisis to former Chief Administrative Officer Gilbert Montano and current Chief Financial Officer Romy Samuel.
This comes after Mayor-elect Helena Moreno announced the crisis has led to jobs being cut and furloughs. Advertisement
It's something both Morrell and Moreno said was due to "complete mismanagement" of funds by Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration.
It's a situation Morrell believes could have been prevented had the council been given accurate information from two top Cantrell aides.
"I do think that we were misled on the level of dysfunction and back-fighting at the top made it impossible for us to get clear information that was actionable," Morr
