WILSON CO., Tenn. (WSMV) - The Wilson County Emergency Management Agency (WEMA) worked to put out a large house fire on Vanderbilt Road near Old Hickory Lake in Mt. Juliet on Tuesday morning.
Authorities say a 27-year-old man was home at the time of the blaze but managed to escape unharmed along with his dogs.
First responders spent multiple hours fighting the flames, which they say were made challenging due to the wind and rainy conditions.
The home has been declared a total loss by fire officials. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
It also led to those in the immediate area to lose power.
In wake of the fire, neighbors are promising to offer support the displaced family as best as they can.
