LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The DNA Doe Project has announced the identification of a woman who was found dead in La Vergne 18 years ago.
The project positively identified the woman as 40-year-old Mary Alice Maloney, who was from Connecticut. She had reportedly been living in the Nashville area before she disappeared.
Maloney was found in a remote wooded area in La Vergne in November 2007.
“Investigators found no clothing at the scene, but some jewelry was found with the remains,” the project said. “After exhausting all leads, the La Vergne Police Department contacted the DNA Doe Project, whose expert volunteer investigative genetic genealogists work pro bono to identify Jane and John Does.”
