Impaired driving: Mayfield Road

A man entered the police station around 12:15 p.m. Nov. 18 and asked to be put in jail for drinking and driving.

He was asked why he would drink and then drive to the station. He said it was because he was an idiot.

He also claimed that he had been sitting in his car in the parking lot for an hour drinking more. An open bottle of vodka was later located in the car.

Officers confirmed through city cameras that he had driven to the station and arrested the Mayfield Heights man, 60.

He did not want to bother taking sobriety tests, but was given a breath test that registered nearly four times the legal limit.

He was charged with OVI and jailed.
