VIENNA — With the colder months approaching, the township’s action committee is hoping to provide to those in need through the donation of clothes.
Sandy Baker, who coordinates the Vienna Community Action Committee’s 1805 Closet in the Vienna Presbyterian Church’s third floor, said the nonprofit was inspired by a lack of clothing distribution programs in the area. The closet is open the first Monday of every month, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the second Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We just knew there’s not really a whole lot of giveaway places around here; like, I know Hartford has a closet but it’s kind of a smaller place, that’s pretty far away from here,” Baker said. “There wasn’t anything really around here that had anything like this.
