SACRAMENTO — With millions of Americans expected to hit the roads for the Thanksgiving holiday, the California Highway Patrol is launching a statewide enforcement effort, reminding drivers that a simple click of a seat belt is their first line of defense.
The CHP’s annual Thanksgiving Holiday Enforcement Period begins at 6:01 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, and runs through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30. During this time, all available officers will be on patrol, with a heightened focus on traffic laws, impaired driving, and—critically—seat belt compliance.
