The above photo is the last heartbreaking picture of Richard Brandon and his wife Joan together before she passed away earlier today . The couple had been together for nearly 50 years, having met back in 1976. ‌

Richard took to Instagram this evening to share the sad news that Joan had died. In the post, he wrote: "Heartbroken to share that Joan, my wife and partner for 50 years, has passed away. She was the most wonderful mum and grandmum our kids and grandkids could have ever wished for. ‌

"She was my best friend, my rock, my guiding light, my world. Love you forever, Joan x." The last photo taken of the couple together was posted on November 15, only 10 days before Joan passed away, reports the Mirror. ‌
