STORRS, Conn. (WFSB) - Colorado State is expected to hire UConn head coach Jim Mora as its next football coach, according to ESPN.
ESPN reports the deal is moving toward completion as Colorado State looks for new leadership after firing Jay Norvell last month.
The hire would come as the Rams prepare to join the Pac-12 and aim to elevate the program under new athletic director John Weber.
Mora is coming off one of the strongest runs in recent UConn history.
He led the Huskies to back-to-back nine-win seasons and brought the team to three bowl games in four years.
Before Mora arrived, UConn had made just one bowl appearance in 11 seasons.
This year’s 9–3 season included wins over Duke and Boston College. All three defeats came in overtime.
