EAST BOSTON, Mass. —

A bouncy sendoff was held at Boston's Logan International Airport on Wednesday to celebrate the retirement of a four-legged Transportation Security Administration officer.

TSA K-9 Hunter, 10, is calling it a career after nine years of explosive detection service with the agency.

Logan Airport workers and TSA agents gathered and tossed balls and chew toys into the hallway as Hunter went off into retirement.

The pup will continue to live a happy and healthy life with his lifelong handler.

There are more than 1,000 TSA K-9 teams deployed nationwide that are tasked with screening passengers and cargo and supporting other security missions.
