A Kenner man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Metairie, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a crash on the intersection of Clearview Parkway and Jasper Street just before 10:30 p.m. where a truck veered off the road and struck a tree, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His name was not released as of Wednesday morning.

An initial investigation showed the man was driving north on Clearview Parkway when he lost control of his truck and left the road, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The cause of the crash remained under investigation.

A toxicology test will be performed as part of the autopsy.

The Sheriff’s Office provided no further information.
