BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) - Many people are looking forward to the post-Thanksgiving shopping rush on Black Friday and scooping up some big deals, but in Manatee County, Black Friday is going to the dogs. Literally.
The county’s animal shelter is holding its first-ever Black Friday adoption event called The Great Palmetto Move Out, co-hosted by Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare.
Dozens of adoptable dogs of all breeds and sizes will be available Friday Nov. 28, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Palmetto Adoption Center at 305 25th St. West.
Adoption fees will be waived in lieu of a donation to Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare. Cat Town will also be open from noon to 4 p.m. for those looking for a new furry feline family member.
