SEATTLE — The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and the Washington State Department of Commerce have signed a new memorandum of understanding, formally cementing their government-to-government relationship and clearing the way for smoother collaboration.
Tribal Chair and CEO W. Ron Allen and Commerce Director Joe Nguyễn signed the agreement in Seattle. It aims to cut administrative red tape, strengthen communication, and set culturally informed standards for data privacy and security.
Allen said the MOU reflects the Tribe’s long-standing government-to-government status and reinforces a partnership that spans key areas such as economic development, health care, natural resources, and cultural preservation.
