WEXFORD COUNTY, MI – A body was discovered in the Manistee National Forest on Tuesday, about three weeks after a 22-year-old pregnant woman went missing in the area, police said.
Citizens were searching for Rebecca Park along a two-track road in the national forest when they found a body at 2:16 p.m. on Tuesday in Boon Township, Wexford County Sheriff Trent Taylor told reporters during a brief press conference that evening.
While the body “resembles” Park, Taylor said he cannot confirm the identity of the deceased until after an autopsy. He would not answer whether the clothing matched what Park was wearing when she disappeared.
This area had been searched before, he said.
