LAS VEGAS — Yaxel Lendeborg wants to buy his mom a car.

He said he and many of his Michigan teammates have already discussed what they’ll do with the extra $1 million the team would earn with a win over Gonzaga in Wednesday’s Players Era Championship title game (9:30 p.m. ET, TNT).

Michigan players earned $1 million in NIL opportunities just for participating in the event . Finishing in the top four triggers additional payments. The championship-game loser will make $500,000. The teams in the third-place game will get paid extra as well.

“It’s crazy, just seeing how much money motivates a lot of guys,” Lendeborg said with a laugh, sitting at his locker after Michigan’s 102-72 win over Auburn . “It’s like we’re all playing like we’re about to die for the money. So it’s interesting.”
