LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - There’s a traffic alert for drivers in Lexington.

Both inbound and outbound lanes on Leestown Road are closed between Lucille Drive and Ruffian Way while Columbia Gas crews repair a damaged gas line.

The line was damaged by a third-party contractor, according to Columbia Gas. Repairs are expected to continue through the afternoon.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

Residents in the Masterson Station area who detect the rotten egg odor associated with natural gas are advised to stop what they are doing, leave the immediate area and call 811 and Columbia Gas’ emergency line at 1-800-432-9515.
