A man armed with a knife was shot and injured by a Wright County deputy, according to the department.

Just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, a person called 911 to report a man holding a large knife while yelling in the street on the 900 Block of Golf Course Road in Monticello.

When deputies got to the address, they found the man walking with the knife. Wright County Sheriff's Office says the man ignored deputies' commands to stop and drop the knife.

The man made a move towards the deputies, who deployed a Taser, but he didn’t stop. Another deputy then shot the man.

He was taken into custody, and transported to North Memorial Health-Robbinsdale Hospital, where he was in stable condition late Tuesday.
