SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — A person sustained minor injuries Wednesday morning after Sun Prairie police they were driving into the front part of Meadowview Elementary School, which was unoccupied at the time.
Police said an officer witnessed a vehicle traveling on North Grand Avenue leave the road, drive through a fence, down a steep embankment, and crash into the school at around 5:43 a.m.
Both the school and the vehicle sustained severe damage, although no one in the school at the time of the crash was impacted.
Instruction would not have been affected since there was no school on Wednesday.
Sun Prairie EMS treated the driver for their injuries, and law enforcement believes the driver was suffering from a medical event that preceded the crash.
