SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) - A car crashed into Sun Prairie’s Meadowview Elementary School on Wednesday morning, causing major damage to the school.
The Sun Prairie Police Department said an officer saw a vehicle go off the road around 5:45 a.m. on North Grand Avenue.
Police said the vehicle went through a fence, down a steep embankment and into the front side of the school.
No one was in the school at the time, and there are no classes Wednesday.
SPPD said EMS treated the driver for minor injuries. Police believe the driver had a medical event right before the crash happened.
The school and the driver’s vehicle suffered severe damage, SPPD said.
