SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WKOW) — An elementary school was severely damaged after a car went down a steep embankment and crashed into it Wednesday morning.
There is no school Wednesday and no one was inside of the building at the time, according to Sgt. Nolan Pickar, of the Sun Prairie Police Department.
The incident was reported around 5:43 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into Meadowview Elementary School. Pickar said the car left the roadway on North Grand Avenue, went through a fence and down a steep embankment before slamming into the building.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated by Sun Prairie EMS, Pickar reported. The vehicle and school were heavily damaged.
Pickar said an early investigation shows the driver may have experienced a medical emergency before the crash.
