Public Service Company of New Mexico will be conducting tree trimming work Monday at Fort Marcy park, the city of Santa Fe announced this week.

Tree trimming will be conducted near PNM utility lines in the park, according to a news release, which states the city "is not performing or scheduling this work."

PNM spokesperson Eric Chavez said Wednesday the project is for "wildfire mitigation and public safety," and the utility company scheduled the date of the work so it would not interfere with migratory bird nesting.

The city's news release included the personal email of a PNM employee. Chavez requested questions or concerns about the project to go to the utility's general corporate communications email, corpcom@txnmenergy.com .
