More than two years after the bodies of Emporia women Linda Estrada and Amy Ford were discovered in a remote Kiowa County field, the man who admitted killing them has been sentenced to decades in prison. On Tuesday afternoon, in the Kiowa County District Courtroom in Eads, Judge Michael Davidson accepted a plea agreement in The People of Colorado v. Philip Lieurance and imposed a total prison term of 45 years, followed by a mandatory five-year parole period.

Davidson sentenced Lieurance to 22½ years for each second-degree murder. The sentences will run consecutively but will be served concurrently with the prison term Lieurance is already serving in Kansas. He also granted 540 days of presentence confinement credit.
