The Lady Hornets basketball squad welcomed a new foe into White Auditorium as they faced off against Quincy for the first time. In said first battle, the Lady Hornets entered the first half down, but a 32-point outburst in the third quarter sealed the game 75-62 to move the Hornets to 3-2 on the season.

The game had a hot and cold flow to it for the Lady Hornets. They started the game on a 7-0 run and continued to score, getting up to a 20-13 lead to end the first quarter. Then, a mix of the Lady Hornets getting ice cold and the Hawks getting hot led to a bad Hornets second quarter. The Hawks shot 9-for-14 in the second quarter while the Lady Hornets scored eight points. Going into the half, the score was 35-28 in favor of Quincy.
