LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that four stop signs have been stolen from intersections over the past few days.

The stop signs have been taken at the intersections of North 112th Street and Alvo Road, Northwest 12th Street and West Rock Creek Road, 176th Street and Pioneers Boulevard and North 98th Street and Fletcher Avenue. The thefts began on Nov. 19, and the most recent sign was taken Tuesday.

The stop signs are being taken with the posts left behind, which causes the county engineer’s office to go out and replace each one. These thefts affect motorists, emergency vehicles and school buses, LSO said.

The county has lost between $50 and $100 from these thefts. According to LSO Chief Deputy Ben Houchin, there have not been any crashes
