JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - The Jackson County Road Department has announced that the Tanner-Williams Bridge has reopened.
The bridge was shut down in June following a state inspection that determined structural repairs were needed.
“We understand how difficult the detour and delays were for residents and commuters. However, the safety of our community is always our top priority, and the repairs made were necessary to ensure the long-term integrity and structural soundness of the bridge and roadway,” county officials said in a statement.
During the closure, residents had to use Highway 613 and Highway 614 as an alternate route.
