The man convicted of murdering 34-year-old Megan Ashley Stedman in Gallatin County in late 2023 has been sentenced to 58 years and three months in prison, according to an order issued Tuesday.
Christopher Brandon Foiles, 44, pleaded guilty to deliberate homicide in late September before 18th District Judge Rienne H. McElyea pursuant to a plea agreement.
On Tuesday, McElyea followed the plea agreement in her sentencing order, which calls for a 60-year sentence with no time suspended.
Justifying the parole prohibition, McElyea cited the “heinous nature of the crime” and that Foiles had “violated a no-contact order” intended to protect Stedman.
Foiles is prohibited from contacting any member of the victim’s family and must pay $2,921.37 in restitution. He will be transported to the Montan
