River Cities United Way has launched a holiday giving campaign to support local food programs as nonprofits respond to rising demand.
Ashley Wood, president and CEO of River Cities United Way, said many area nonprofits continue to face financial strain after a federal funding freeze at the start of 2025. The freeze reduced access to grants and forced several organizations to restructure or shut down. A recent government shutdown added further delays for families relying on federal aid, including nutrition assistance. ×
