EDINA, Minn. — Residents of Edina are being advised to take steps to protect themselves from being targeted after multiple burglaries over the past several weeks.
Edina police say at least three separate homes have been hit by what they believe is an "organized group" that is stealing jewelry, safes, and other high-end merchandise.
Crime reports say the first robbery took place Oct, 10 on the 5000 block of Interlachen Bluff, while a second happened Nov. 20 on the 6300 block of Westwood Court. The third was two days later, on Nov. 22, when a home on the 5100 block of Skyline Drive was hit.
A police spokesperson says it's early in the investigation, but the crooks seem to be targeting homes that are more secluded and have wooded backyards for unobserved access.
