KALAMAZOO, MI ­–– Michigan’s high school volleyball season came to a close last weekend, as four teams walked away from Kellogg Arena with the state’s ultimate prize.

Now, it’s time for some postseason accolades.

The Michigan High School Volleyball Coaches Association released its all-state teams this week, and 17 Kalamazoo-area volleyball players made the cut.

Division 4 state finalist Mendon saw five players earn all-state honors, while Division 3 state finalist Kalamazoo Christian flexed four all-state honorees.

The Hornets’ Jadyn Samson, Cienna Nightingale and Gracie Schultz all came away with the area’s highest honors –– first team recognition.
