Friends of a St. Paul couple have launched an online fundraiser in the wake of a devastating hit-and-run crash.

A GoFundMe has been set up to support Charles Deneen after his 30-year-old wife, Amber, was killed earlier this month after being hit by an SUV that sped off at the intersection of St. Anthony Avenue and Aldine Street. The couple was walking their two dogs at the time.

“Amber was deeply loved by all those close to her, and she left a lasting impact on everyone she met—even those who only had the chance to interact with her a handful of times,” the page reads.

More than $26,000 has been raised to cover funeral arrangements and urgent veterinary care for the couple’s German Shepherds that were injured.
