BUNA, Texas — A routine loose-livestock call led to two drug arrests Wednesday morning in Buna, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said he received a call around 8:30 a.m. from a resident on FM 2938, also known as Callier Loop, reporting loose cattle belonging to a resident at 2803 FM 2938.
Havard and Deputy Clayton Daigle went to the home and spoke with the individual about the livestock. The sheriff’s office noted it had previously received information about potential criminal activity at that location.
After corralling the cattle, deputies informed the resident that the home was believed to be associated with drug use and asked for consent to search.
The man voluntarily agreed to a search of the property according to Sheriff Havard.
