FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team dominated Virginia Military Institute 81-48 on Wednesday in the Fort Myers Tip-Off tournament at Florida Southwestern State College.
The Falcons started the game on a 19-5 run and led 45-20 at halftime to cruise to the win.
Mayar Wol scored a team-high 21 points off the bench in just 23 minutes, going 8-for-11 from the field and 5-for-7 from 3-point range.
Sam Towns had a double-double of 12 points and 18 rebounds, Josiah Shackelford also had 12 points, and Troy Glover II finished with 11 points.
Linus Holmstrom was VMI’s leading scorer with 11 points.
BG shot 47 percent (30 of 64) from the field and was 10 of 26 (38 percent) from beyond the arc.
