PONCHATOULA, La. — A 19-year-old man from Livingston Parish is in jail after a shooting in Ponchatoula and chase spanning across two parishes, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrested Andres Gutierrez. He faces one count each of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, aggravated flight form an officer, and animal cruelty.
TPSO said early Wednesday morning deputies were called to a home in the 10000 block of Highway 22 in Ponchatoula. After an altercation between two men ended with one firing multiple shots and hitting a woman in the arm, Gutierrez fled the scene.
He lead authorities on a chase into Slidell, but was caught at a gas station when his truck ran out of gas.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment and is expected
