Can footwear deals lure wary consumers this season? Retailers seem to be pulling out all the stops on good deals over the next few days.

That will be music to consumers’ ears, as they have been on the hunt for value since word surfaced from U.S. President Donald Trump that reciprocal tariffs would be implemented in April. The hunt for value has intensified as evidenced in the back-to-school shopping season, and that search doesn’t seem to have abated at all.

The latest Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index disclosed on Tuesday fell by 6.8 percent in November to 88.7 from 95.5 in October.
