Iron County School District officials are considering a move to a four-day school week.
The issue was discussed at length during the Nov. 18 school board meeting, although no formal action was taken. Town hall meetings for gathering further public input have been scheduled for 6 p.m. on the evening of Dec. 2 at all three of the district’s high schools (Cedar, Canyon View and Parowan). School board members will be present at all three locations.
In addition, a districtwide employee meeting has been scheduled for the afternoon of Dec. 5 in the Canyon View High School gymnasium.
Iron County School District recently posted a seven-minute video on the district’s website, wherein Superintendent Lance Hatch explains the proposal and addresses its potential advantages and disadvantages.
