GREENVILLE, S.C. —
As Thanksgiving approaches, Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop is bustling with activity, preparing 583 pies for families and businesses in the community.
Hannah Blakeney, the shop manager, said as she filled a pie crust, "I don't know anybody who's had a bad memory with pie. And I think that, you know, when people think pie, they think warm, fuzzy family time. And I couldn't agree more."
Blakeney noted the challenges of the holiday season, stating, "But nothing about Thanksgiving is a piece of cake. They've got four days to bake 583 pies, each of them for a different family or business in our community."
The pie shop's success hinges on the dedication of its bakers.
