BEECH GROVE, Texas — A community fish fry next month will raise money to launch a new low-cost animal services clinic aimed at reducing unwanted pet pregnancies and lowering the number of stray animals in Jasper County.
The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department is partnering with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Chuck Havard, and Beech Grove Baptist Church to support the upcoming Kahla Memorial Humane Services Clinic, operated by the nonprofit Loving Hearts Animal Society.
The clinic will open inside the former Beech Grove Veterinary Clinic, a facility donated in memoriam of longtime Jasper County veterinarian Dr. John W. Kahla, DVM. The Kahla family is also providing remaining clinic furnishings to support Loving Hearts’ mission.
