LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Authorities are looking for a man wanted for murder out of St. Landry Parish, and they believe he’s in the Lake Charles area.
On Nov. 24, a St. Landry Parish grand jury indicted Benjamin Phillip Baquet on a count of second-degree murder, according to a release from St. Landry District Attorney Chad Pitre.
According to Pitre, the victim was a child under the age of 12. Doctors said the child’s death stemmed from “shaken baby syndrome” injuries caused by Bacquet when the child was seven weeks old.
Bacquet is described as a 5’6″, 160 lb. white man with brown hair and brown eyes.
Authorities said they received “very reliable information” that Baquet may be in the Lake Charles area. His last known address is in Lumberton, Texas, but he has also lived in Ville Pl
