FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky., announced $4 million to improve water service for more than 10,000 Kentucky homes in three communities.
According to a news release, the projects include the expansion of a water treatment plant in Powell County, the construction of a new water storage tank in McLean County and the replacement of over 17,000 feet of waterlines in the city of Hustonville in Lincoln County.
“Clean drinking water is a basic human right,” said Beshear. “On the day before Thanksgiving, it feels good to give our people some good news. These are projects that will just make life better for so many Kentuckians and make sure our people are taken care of. Happy Thanksgiving, Kentucky.”
Funding for the projects comes from Team Kentucky’s Community Development Block Grant
