EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Evansville Fire Department is training for the improbable.

After a dramatic bridge rescue in Louisville earlier this year, EFD officials say agencies across the nation were reminded how quickly a situation can turn dangerous over the water.

Recently, firefighters in Evansville started training for that exact scenario.

EFD says its rope team propped an old school bus at a steep angle to simulate the same rescue.

“You may never see this type of call, but if it happens, your firefighters are prepared," says the fire department on social media.
