TEMPLE, Texas — The City of Temple is set to break ground on a major project this December.
The City will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the next phase of its Public Safety Training Center at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The next phase of the center will add "vital resources to support training for first responders," according to the City, such as a Temple Police Department classroom building, a modern shooting range with storage and a secure space for K-9 training.
The City said the expansion will also include a dedicated defensive tactics area and a planned space for virtual reality training, which they say will "ensure state-of-the-art instruction that strengthens safety" across the community.
