BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced a single-lane closure of eastbound Interstate 84 on Tuesday to allow repair work on a bridge.

According to a news release, ITD will close a single eastbound lane from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday to repair the bridge at the Gowen Field exit. This work is weather permitting.

ITD said this work must be done during daytime hours due to the temperatures. To effectively apply the repair material, temperatures must be slightly higher than nighttime temperatures this time of year.

Earlier this year, ITD completed work on the bridge during overnight hours. However, this daytime closure is needed to complete remaining repairs and "restore the structure to full service," according to a news release.
