POULTNEY — An article asking voters to approve a $1.4 million bond to create a new town hall in the old Main Street bank building failed 278-165 on Tuesday.
The bond aimed to facilitate the creation of a space at 177 Main St. to house both Poultney town and village offices. The town and village are currently exploring a merger process, which most recently saw the presentation of a feasibility study in September.
