GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The North Carolina Department of Transportation says Dickinson Avenue is expected to reopen to traffic by December 31st, and construction will be completed by spring 2026.
This pushes back an earlier timeline that projected completion by early December .
Construction has become an everyday sight for many Greenville residents. On Dickinson Avenue, crews continue their work on the ongoing project.
While it won’t be finished until spring 2026, NCDOT says the road will be open to traffic by December 31st. People who frequent the area of downtown Greenville say it’s about time.
“I’m glad it’s a short timeline because we definitely want to be able to walk around here without all the construction,” said Karla Cruz, a Greenville resident.
