Volunteers begin frying turkeys at 2 a.m.
The money to purchase a bird goes to reading programs and feeding the homeless in Jefferson Parish.
Organizers say it's a blessing to sell out almost every year.
The last pickup is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
