Three men in Los Angeles are facing murder charges following the fatal shooting of rising Latin singer Delarosa.
Francisco Otilio Gaytan, Benny LiconGomez and Eduardo Lopez have been accused of shooting and killing Delarosa, 22, during an "ambush-style attack" in the Northridge neighborhood on Saturday, Nov. 22, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman revealed in a press release Wednesday.
Gaytan and LiconGomez, both 27, as well as Lopez, 21, were each charged with one felony count of murder and two felony counts of attempted second-degree robbery. If convicted on the charges, the men face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Representatives for Delarosa were not available for comment at the time of publication.
"This was a ruthless and targeted attack that stole the life of a young woman and artist and inflicted profound lifelong trauma on her family and the two survivors," Hochman said in a statement. "My office will pursue this case aggressively to ensure those responsible are held fully accountable for this senseless and deadly violence."
Delarosa (real name: Maria De La Rosa) was "fatally struck" shortly before 1:25 a.m. local time on Nov. 22 after the three men allegedly approached a parked vehicle the singer was in with two other individuals, the district attorney's press release stated.
The men allegedly demanded money from the group and then opened fire, striking all three occupants of the vehicle.
The two other victims, who have not been named, sustained critical injuries. Gaytan was arrested the same day as the shooting, while LiconGomez was arrested the following day.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Lopez.
LiconGomez, who is being held on approximately $2.3 million bail, is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, followed by Gaytan's arraignment on Jan. 7, 2026.
Gaytan's bail was set at approximately $2.2 million. Lopez's bail has been set at roughly $2.2 million. His arraignment will be scheduled at a later date.
Dubbing herself "la muñeca mala," or the "bad doll," Delarosa was an emerging voice in the Latin music scene.
The singer, who boasted over 44,000 followers on Instagram, released the single "No Me Llames" in August. The stinging breakup track, influenced by regional Mexican music's corridos tumbados, has racked up nearly 10,000 streams on Spotify.
Delarosa celebrated her 22nd birthday on Oct. 9.
