BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Patrons at Burlington’s Fletcher Free Library were able to “check out” Thanksgiving cheer on Wednesday.

The Farmhouse Group donated more than 50 Thanksgiving meals to the library this week, among the more than 2,000 handed out to sites across Chittenden County.

From full Thanksgiving spreads to vegetarian options, the library says that with an increased need in the community, they hope to help as many people as possible.

“Anecdotally, we’re hearing that food insecurity is high right now, and perhaps that’s why we’re seeing the meals go so quickly. I think just knowing that this is a place in our community that you can come and be, hopefully, is a real benefit to folks,” said the library’s Mary Danko
