PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The stars are coming to town for Thursday's 6abc Dunkin' Thanksgiving Day Parade , including Maxwell Simkins from ABC's hit show Shifting Gears.

6abc's Alicia Vitarelli caught up with Simkins ahead of his big appearance. The Ambler native has been busy filming season 2 of "Shifting Gears" alongside Tim Allen and Bryn Mawr's own Kat Dennings.

"It's like a family, almost," Simkins said. "You all bond so close, and you become like a family, which is funny, because that's what we play on TV. So, it works. It works."

When the parade makes its way along the Ben Franklin Parkway, Simkins will ride the route as fans cheer him on.
