BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) — Police say a convicted sex offender has been arrested for allegedly chasing and harassing a preteen girl on her way to a bus stop in Buckeye last week.

According to court documents, a woman called 911 to report that 48-year-old Adrian Villareal had followed and yelled at her 12-year-old daughter in the area of Baseline and Pima roads , which is west of Apache Road, on Friday, around 7:30 a.m.

Police said the girl turned to see what he was saying to her and then walked away because she was scared and didn’t know who he was.

Workers at a nearby day care/school saw what happened and brought her inside the building, court records said.
